We are a group of researchers with a diverse background (geologists, geophysicists, petroleum engineers, computer scientists) who work together to make enhancements in petroleum-related research by utilizing advanced analytical equipment (AFM, PFQNM, RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY, SEM, TEM and etc.) to answer fundamental questions. Our goal is to better characterize source rocks and their constituent elements in a very fine scale, component by component from molecular point of view. The results are integrated with computational methods to improve our insight of how a group of molecules react or interact. We want to answer fundamental problems from a new perspective. Our team understands that nano and microscale studies do not represent a mega or macro scale so our attempt is to develop upscaling methods to make accurate models for the application.
We collaborate with government agencies and industry partners to bring fundamental research back to a petroleum department.
We are RESERVOIR DOGS* at the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA.
*RESERVOIR DOGS is a movie by director Quentin Tarantino.
